“In Everything Give Thanks”

Repeating the phrase to give thanks is pervasive in our anthem today.  We all like to think we give thanks on a regular basis and hopefully we do, but this text reminds us of all the times we can be grateful for and return thanks to the One who delivered it to us first.

November 15, 2009 4:00 p.m. - The Inaugural of “The Classical Music Recital Series” at St. Andrew

All are welcome to attend the free recital which will be held in our sanctuary on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. This is the first in a series of special music recitals for our local classically trained musicians and singers to perform in. This special first recital will welcome the Yamaha Grand and it will feature Jeffrey A. Clise, Pete Hommel, Michelle Hull-Barsh, Taryn Leonard Neill, Susan MacKenzie, David McKinley, Kathy McKinley, Susan MacKenzie, Pauline Reedy and Ruth Stenger Japzon. We are excited to bring this musical outreach to our community and we hope to see you there. A free will offering will be taken and a reception will follow.

“A Jubilant Thanksgiving”

The harvest is in and it is mid-autumn, much work is done and we give thanks. Our Thanksgiving anthem incorporates the traditional German  hymn, “Now Thank We All Our God” (“Nun danket alle Gott”) and also “Come, Ye Thankful People, Come”.  Both boldly and proudly ring out with our musical joy of thanks.
